“ Holy smokes this place is so great! Tasty food that is easy to carry out after placing order over phone, and clean and organized with every ingredient you may need, and the piñatas are fun & so is the vibe-the cooks in back are friendly & I love grabbing lunch here to carry out as there's no tables except outside in front! Recommend & wish it existed down the road from me! ”

“ Ok, I've read good reviews on this place, so we decided to check it out on a Saturday night for dinner. When you walk in, it's just packed with groceries on tall shelves, you will also see the cash wrap to the right when you go in. This is where you will place for order, there is a large menu board on the wall. We were wandering around, and an employee told us that we needed to go there to order, and after ordering, you walk to the back by the meat counter and wait for your name to be called. Nice selection of Mexican groceries, meat counter, produce area, piñata, even clay pots for cooking. This place is very busy, and gets crowded because there is so much packed in there. We wanted to try a bunch of things, I sort of felt on the spot when it was our turn to order. We got the carnitas huarache, asada supreme burrito, 2 pork tamales, rice and beans, and 3 tacos (al pastor, asada, and carnitas). The huarache was my favorite thing we ordered. I didn't care for the asada in the burrito. We liked the rice and beans were good, too. The pork tamales were not dry and had a nice flavor. We were so full, that we didn't get to the tacos until the next day. Of those tacos, I liked the Al Pastor the best, followed by carnitas and then the asada. Maybe it was an off day for asada, since everything else was good. I also order horchata, that was very good. They gave us sauces, which were good, but spicy fyi We will be back and I will be better prepared to order. I want to try the loaded fries and a gordita. ”

“ My absolute favorite Mexican place. The tacos are phenomenal. They have very long wait times (many times 45+ min for dinner) but it is worth it. It is a market with a lot of authentic options. An awesome spot! ”
“ It is one of the best Mexican supermarkets I've been to in metro Detroit, even beating the supermarkets in Mexicantown. La Tiendita is a small supermarket packed with everything you need to create Mexican food at home - fresh meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, fruits, and vegetables. The supermarket also offers an extensive menu of Mexican favorites made to order. The burrito was delicious and huge. It was enough for two meals - one of the best burritos I've had. The Aqua Fresca was also delicious. There is no reason to go to fast food Mexican restaurants when there are places like La Tiendita. This will be the only place in the Westland area I'll go to for Mexican food from now on. ”
“ My first time going to this place was this week and I made a second visit this week. Both visits I had tacos. The carnitas, Al pastor and chicken were very good and I'm looking forward to trying the other meat choices. Each visit I took different coworkers and all thought this place has good food. One coworker got a torta and another had the tamales and both said they were good. The ordering was a little confusing on the first visit. Just know you have to place your order at the front counter then go to the back of store to get your order. ”
“ I stopped in this market for a quick authentic Mexican lunch and this place did not disappoint. The asada tacos were delicious and filling. I enjoyed the rice and beans also. Pretty reasonably priced as well. My meal was $8.47 for the two tacos, rice and beans. I was also impressed by all of the different authentic Mexican items sold in the market. I will be back soon; to grab a meal and for shopping the market. ”
“ Appreciate having a local Mexican market in my hometown. With Mexican corn or elote all the rage, you can buy queso cotija here, no wrong internet cheese substitutions for the real deal. They have a small selection of groceries, in-house restaurant with some great nachos, last I asked I think they do tamales on the weekends only. They also have a carniceria or in house butcher. Think most of the business relates to meat market and restaurant. Upon check out I think they place a small surcharge when using debit or credit. Bill was 14.63, but screen read 15 something. ”
“ We are still enjoying delicious tacos from this hidden gem! We absolutely love the chips and salsa- the chips are so crunchy and delicious. The salsa comes in a huge tub and you can enjoy it for days! My boyfriend said this is his favorite carnita- it is so tender, with a nice crunch on it- not fatty at all! I prefer the asada. They're amazing! I tried the chicken taco today, I was happy with it- super tender and a great flavor. We usually smash in the car! There is a full market attached to the taqueria for your home goods! You MUST give La Tiendita a try!! You will be in love! ”
